Labyrinth Hoodie
Premium hoodie · Purpose-driven design
The Labyrinth Hoodie is inspired by the journey of transformation and self-discovery, as reflected in the labyrinth of Chartres Cathedral in France—where Bernard of Chartres taught and studied ancient texts. The juxtaposition of a labyrinth, which evokes meditative practices and symbolism from both ancient and non-Christian origins, embedded in one of the most important Catholic cathedrals, prompts us to reconsider Bernard of Chartres' verse as both overt and subtle commentary. As Joseph Campbell describes in The Hero With A Thousand Faces, “The labyrinth is thoroughly known; we have only to follow the thread of the hero path. And where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a god. And where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves. And where we had thought to travel outward, we shall come to the center of our own existence. And where we had thought to be alone, we shall be with all the world.” This hoodie acknowledges the wisdom of both Bernard and Campbell, featuring the labyrinth surrounded by Bernard’s famous verse in embroidery, alongside a symbol of individual transformation sprouting from its center.
